In Fall 1998, several seniors of the Delta Phi (student) Chapter were concerned that after graduation they would have no way of actively participating in the brotherhood of Alpha Kappa Psi. These seniors acquired a database of all known current and past members of the Delta Phi Chapter from Alpha Kappa Psi National Headquarters. They split up the list of approximately 800 names and began calling each name on the list. After compiling an updated list of names and addresses, the group began to send out a series of newsletters to all of the brothers, gradually updating the list. The first meeting of the Southeastern Wisconsin "City of Festivals" Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi was held on July 7, 1999. The chapter began meeting bi-monthly on the first Wednesday of the month August through June.
Currently, the City of Festivals meets on the first Thursday evening each month. All meetings take place at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee campus located at 2200 E Kenwood Blvd, Milwaukee, WI 53211. The chapter also meets throughout the month at various planned events open to all friends of the fraternity and student members.
In an effort to support the student chapter, the City of Festivals operates a mentorship program partnering alumni brothers with student brothers. This program enables students to build relationships and network across Milwaukee business professionals. Additionally, each year four scholarships are awarded to individuals in the student chapter.
